If the walls really could talk...I think ours would be singing HALLELUJAH! Because they officially have sheet rock! Our shell of a house is officially becoming a home. We are down to the countdown phase as we have only 4 weeks before we move in. The walls have been sheet rocked, taped, textured and primed. Our wood floors have also been installed throughout the entire house, except bathrooms, (not in the pictures yet...) and will be hand scraped and stained next week! Clint is working on the "guest bathroom" right now and is busy putting in the tub and tiling! We are getting so excited! However now it's also down to decision making time...I have to begin picking out colors and getting the details together. I tend to "stress" about this part a little, but it'll all come together I am sure! Apartment life is nearing an end and we are excited!

Back to life, Back to reality......

Well tomorrow is "officially" my (Aubrey's) first day back to work from the summer. I have to admit I am having mixed feelings about it. I love my job. I love my students. I love my identity in what I do. I love the reward in impacting kids lives in a positive way. I am good at what I do. I don't mean that to sound boastful, but I work hard at my job and I have witnessed life changing differences in my students. From the moment I was hired to teach, I knew in my heart that it was what God called me to do. Funny, I never wanted to be a teacher.

However this year going back to work presents it's own little twist; I love my baby girl. I have always envisioned myself as a "working mom"...I think it's just who I am. I have always said I would work when I had kids and I have honestly never thought differently about it. However, holding those pudgy little thighs in your hands and kissing those "fluffy" little cheeks makes me realize it might be a little touger than I had thought. It's probably going to be a rough few days, but we'll make it through right? In a perfect world I would do both all day long, be an excellent teacher all day for other peoples kids and be an excellent mom all day for my own. yeah, that would be perfect.

Will I Crawl?

Trinity is 8 months and trying so hard to crawl. She gets very frusterated with herself when she puts so much effort into it, but can't go. She usually gets up on all fours, rocks a little, then gets up on her toes (like a downward dog position for you yoga-ites), but she just won't go forward. She can move around by rolling and sitting, but that isn't going to get you far. Sometimes I wonder if she even thinks about it. Although this video doesn't give any insight into her TRUE physical "crawling abilities"...maybe it will give us some insight on her thoughts about the entire mess.
Maybe this is what she has been thinking?

However, rest assured. I haven't seen any adolecents crawling lately, they all seem to be pretty upright, so I know it will happen eventually, right?!

60 Day Notice!!

Well progress is always a good thing and that is what we are doing...making progress. Last Tuesday (7/29) we had the blown in foam insulation done in the house, and it's amazing what a difference it has made already. I went and visited Clint at the house that day to see what all of the commotion was about. They basically had a huge hose hooked up to some barrels in a truck and they blew out this wet "foamy stuff" (technical term) and then it expanded to fill in all of the nooks and crannies throughout the house. Some times I think the ceiling looks like a cave with all of the stalagmite crystals (you know those caves that everyone always visits on your family vacations when you are young, at the time they seemed SO cool, but in hindsight maybe not so much)...but none the less, the house should be cool (as in temp and awesomeness!)! We are hoping to lower our electric bills in the midst of it all....expanding foam=shrinking utility bills, at least that is what we are hoping!

I mentioned in the last post that getting the insulation in was a pretty big milestone, as it means we are closer and closer to drywall and flooring! The A/C is supposed to be in by this Friday, which will be a huge help to Clint...this 105+ weather does not make for the best of working conditions...but he has been pushing through! It may begin to actually look like a home soon! Not that I am anxious or anything, but I did turn in our 60 day notice to the apartment complex...so September 30, like it or not, finished or construction zone...we are movin'!
