Birthdays, Turkey Day, Christmas & Happy New Year (part 2)

Well after the Turkey ws gone and the birthday celebrations were over, there was only a month until Christmas and it went by fast! Before we knew it Christmas was here! It was so much fun with Trinity this year. She loved Santa and pointed out every nutcracker and snowman that was around. She loved to tell everyone that Santa says "ho ho ho!" Santa also out did himself this year!! He was running a bit behind schedule so luckily Daddy (aka Clint!) was able to help Santa out. He brought Trinity a kitchenette....and it is the cutest ever! It is already loaded with food, dishes, pots and pans, and even her very own blender and apron. She loves it!

This year for Christmas we traveled south to Mission, Texas to spend time with my family. We met my sister (Amy), brother (Aaron) and dad in Austin stayed the night there and then made the treck down to the valley to see my grandparents and other extended family. Uncle Adam met us in the valley when we got there (lucky, he got to fly!). While we were in Austin we made a stop at the local mall to see Santa and Trinity was great. She sat on his lap and smiled "purty."

Hangin' with the man of the hour.

Coloring with her new water color book that Santa left in her stocking.
Of all the food that was left with her kitchen, she went straight to the cupcakes first!
Lovin' her new kitchen !!

Discovering that Santa had arrived and brought LOTS of fun new toys!

We had a big family dinner the last night we were in the valley and Grandma made her famous fried chicken....Trinity ran around and had so much fun with all of her cousins she was worn out!
Amy, Adam, Aaron and our cousin Jer anticipating the "fried chicken" dinner!

Trinity and her cousins Makayla and Maci at my Aunt Renee's. She had a blast playing with the girls!
Uncle Bubba and Jer.
Gpa and Aunt Amy...not sure how to respond to this pic...:-) Gotta love my dad!
Overall we had a fantastic Christmas. Clint and I both talked about how much more magical it was this year to see Trinity light up with the wonderful magic of Christmas. I can't wait to spend more Christmases with our little princess (not to mention the little prince that will be here in May!)
...OH did I forget to mention that? haha! One of our biggest Christmas presents this year was that Clint and I found out that we are having a boy!! We were so surprised and so excited! Trinity is going to be a big sis to a baby bro! How fun! Our little man will be here at the beginning of May!

Birthdays, Turkey Day, Christmas, Happy New Year...we have been busy! (part 1)

Whew...We have had a busy last few months! I love the holiday season, and once Halloween hits it's on in full force! It really is my favorite time of the year. I love the spirit, the shopping, the decor and the hustle and bustle that seems to overtake everything around you. It's just my fave!
This year our Holiday season began with having all of my family at our house for Thanksgiving and for Trinity's Birthday. My mom came down from Iowa, my brother (Adam) came from Fort Worth, my brother (Aaron) came from Arizona with his girlfriend (now fiance...I'll explain more later!) and my sister(Amy) came from Austin. The only sibling missing was Ashley with her husband (Joe). They are still in Mali Africa serving in the peace corp. They have about 6 more months and we are counting down the minutes until they get to come home! With everyone here, we had a blast! It was so fun to meet Becky and see her be such a perfect fit for our family!
While everyone was here we took a night to see the "ICE" exhibit at the Gaylord Texas Hotel in Grapevine. The theme this year was "The Grinch" and it was pretty spectacular. The entire exhibit is ice scuplures and they even have an ice slide in the middle that Trinity became a HUGE fan of! She went down 3 times and didn't miss a beat! It's only 9 degrees in the exhibit so they give you these huge parkas when you go to stay warm...we looked like a bunch of eskimos and Trinity walked like a penguin she had so many layers on. It was so much fun and a great memory!

After a fun filled week of eating, laughing, monopoly-deal playing, and so much more...everyone had to return home, but it wasn't long after that we got "the call" from Bubba. He had proposed to Becky and she said "yes!" I still have a hard time digesting that my little brother is getting married, but Clint and I are SO incredibly excited for him and for Becky. We know personally what an incredible journey and blessing from God that marriage can be and I know Becky and Aaron will experience the same joy. Becky will be the first "sister-in-law" for the fam....no pressure! :-) ha ha! Congrats to the new couple!Just moments after they got engaged here is a pic of the happy couple!

Then it was Birthday Time! Our little baby girl has officially turned 2. It's crazy how fast the past two years have gone. She is the most incredible gift in our lives and Clint and I still wonder how we lived without her. She has really grown up in the past few months, she is talking up a storm and really getting to be pretty funny. She loves books, loves to "cook" and has found a new love of Minnie Mouse! She is a true joy.

However with any toddler I am sure (or maybe hoping) with a 2 year birthday begins the time of the "terrible twos" and a new found "independence." She can definately hold her own and can tell you what she does and doesn't want. I know she gets her fearlessness from her daddy, but definately gets her little miss independent spirit from her mommy. She is so much fun!

Sportin' her Minnie Mouse ears while enjoying our Birthday Cupcake!
Opening presents!!

What a day!

.....stay tuned part 2 of Birthdays, Turkey Day, Christmas and Happy New Year is coming soon...
